I thihk some clients are surprised at the amount of work they need to do for a patent application/specification draft. The patent agent or attorney needs all the information and knowledge you have on the invention, especially the examples, how they work and technical details. Don’t hold back on any reason why the invention is surprising or advantageous, let the attorney know. One application I helped draft and get to grant came down to the absence of a flavouring agent. This sort of preparation can reduce costs massivley.

We are moving from delivering patent information in standard format (Excel, Word etc.) onto mobile devices, so bespoke apps can be made for clients or large market apps will be put onto iTunes. However if anyone wants any sort of app (Apple ipad/iphone or Android), let me know as we can get these done for you rapidly and reliably, and afford-ably. Based on our Inventoraid app, it is amazing to see the international exposure these apps can give a company. If any one would like to chat about this, please don`t hesitate to contact me. Quite a proportion of Searching is expected to migrate from the web to app stores, so why not use an app to give you international presence (multilingual apps are best).

Hi, just wonder if the app store will become part of any future marketing campaign. Which devices would you be looking at developing the apps for? Just Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad?

This company may also be of use to you. They do Apps as SaaS (Software as a service) which provides apps via the web for mobile devices. Irish company

I just had an inventor on the phone, he was worried about when he could talk about his patent pending invention, the best thing to do is never discuss more than is in your patent application and if it has not been published (18 months from the earliest filing date), you could consider using NDAs. It can take quite a few years to get a patent application granted (avergae is about 3.5 years from filing but some can take double that)

Just one tip for people looking for logo design and development, there is a very cheap service http://www.25poundlogo.co.uk/ and I use them to kick start the process, I think you need a fairly good concept of what you want though

Our Inventoraid app is now free on iTunes, we are thinking of ways to develop this further, the updates will be free of course, one idea is to give inventors time and space on the app to promote their invention (part of an update?).
